How to troubleshoot Windows 8 connection to Eduroam

If your device is running Windows 8 then please follow the steps below to establish an eduroam connection.

1. On the task bar, click on the Wi-Fi symbol and select eduroam. You should see the screen below in Figure 1. Click on the Connect button and then enter your username and password. Please remember to add the suffix @qmul.ac.uk to the end of your username.

2. If your device automatically connects to eduroam then it is using the previous user’s credentials. You will need to forget the network before being able to enter your own credentials.

3. Right click on eduroam and select Forget this network. This will forget the previously established connection. Now select eduroam and click on connect and you will be prompted to enter your username and password. Please remember to enter the @qmul.ac.uk suffix after your username.

4. You will be presented with the message Windows can’t verify the server’s identity.  Please click on connect and an eduroam connection will be established.

Please remember to disconnect and forget this network after you have used the device. This will stop someone else from misusing your connection.
