Description

LabVIEW (short for Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench) is a system-design platform and development environment for a visual programming language from National Instruments (NI).  LabVIEW is for any measurement or control system, and the heart of the NI design platform.  Integrating all the tools that engineers and scientists need to build a wide range of applications in less time.  LabVIEW is a development environment for problem solving, accelerated productivity, and continual innovation.  

The University has National Instruments Academic Suite site license for Science and Engineering Faculty staff and students. This license provides use of Student edition of LabView which you can use for instrument control, data acquisition and monitoring.

Serial Number

Please email: servicedesk@qmul.ac.uk to obtain the serial number.

Steps to install LabVIEW

1. Before you begin the installation, please make sure you have a valid National Instruments account by registering here with your QMUL email address.

2. You can obtain the software in the following ways:

  • Download LabVIEW Student Edition Software Suite from here
  • Download LabVIEW and Toolkits individually from here (Click [See Download Options] button and select "Professor/Student")
  • Search for the Products and download individually from here

3. During the installation please use the serial number provided to you by the IT Service Desk.

Note: The above serial number is valid only for one year.
